Nottingham Test: India to start the day at 24 for one

NOTTINGHAM: Now it is up to the Indian batsmen to rise to the occasion, as the bowlers giving their hundred percent did their job well. The Indians will go to bat today at 24 for one loss. The first day of Nottingham Trent Bridge went to the Indian bowlers, as none of the first-eight England batsmen could make a formidable partnership against them, resulting in the fall of 8 wickets for a paltry 124 runs. And then coming from behind Stewart Broad batting responsibly did a fine job for somewhat rescuing his team from a total collapse by scoring substantial 64 runs, enabling his team to make 221 all out.Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma took three wickets each.India in reply at the end of the play had scored 24 for one loss. VVS Laxman at 13 and Rahul Dravid at 7 remained not out. India needs 197 more runs to wipe out the England’s lead
