Hamid puts Afghanistan on top with devastating spell

A brilliant spell of fast bowling from Afghanistan’s Hamid Hassan ensured that there was a dramatic finish to the opening day's play of the ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Canada in Toronto.Replying to Afghanistan's 293 all out, Hamid destroyed Canada's top order with four wickets before the close of play, leaving him with impressive figures of 4-12 off just six overs.All top four of Canada's batting order were dismissed with Gunasekera, Patel, Gordon and Surkari all out before the end of play.Earlier in the day's play, the defending champions had recovered from 24-2 and 151-6 to record a respectable 293 all out.Samiullah Shenwari once again rescued Afghanistan's top order with an excellent display of middle-order batting, cracking 12 boundaries in his innings of 70.
