Injured Tendulkar to be replaced by Badrinath

India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI Series against England due to a toe injury, the tourists' team manager Shivlal Yadav has confirmed. The BCCI announced later that Tendulkar will be replaced by middle-order batsman S Badrinath."Sachin Tendulkar has been advised rest for four weeks. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has chosen S. Badrinath to replace him,'' said BCCI in a statement.Tendulkar, who continues to chase an elusive 100th international century, missed the opener at the Durham on Saturday and the Indian camp announced on Monday their star man is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines. No replacement will be called up to an India squad which has been beset with health concerns in recent weeks.Rohit Sharma was also ruled out yesterday after suffering a fractured finger in the match at the weekend, which was rained off. Manoj Tiwary has been called up to take his place. Tendulkar will become the eighth player to fly home from India's difficult tour, following Rohit, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh.India will be hoping that Tiwary will be ready in time to join the team in time for Tuesday's second match at the Rose Bowl, with their batting stocks diminished further following the news on Tendulkar.
