HARARE : Pakistan after a tough contest defeated Zimbabwe by five runs in
the second and final Twenty20 International played here at the Harare
Sports Club ground on Sunday.Chasing a modest target of 142
runs, Zimbabwe reached 136 for seven wickets as Tatenda Taibu did his
best to steer his team to its first victory in any form of cricket in
the series but he failed to hit a six required off the final ball of the
match.He remained unbeaten on 37 made in 28 balls with the help of three fours and a six.Earlier,
Pakistan were restricted to 141-7 due to accurate bowling and excellent
fielding by Zimbabwe here Winning the toss, Pakistan captain
Misbah-ul-Haq elected to bat first but his batsmen could not make enough
runs except opener Mohammad Hafeez who scored second consecutive
half-century.Hafeez made 51 with five fours and a six during his
38-ball innings. He later also captured three wickets for 11 runs to
win his second successive Man-of-the-Match award.Fast bowler Kyle Jarvis was the most successful bowler for Zimbabwe taking three wickets for 14 runs.
