IPL: Mumbai beat Deccan in low-scoring match

MUMBAI: Mumbai Indians defeated Deccan Chargers by five wickets in a low-scoring match in the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League here at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Now, Mumbai Indians went to third position with ten points whereas Deccan Chargers remained on bottom of the points table.

Deccan Chargers were bowled out for 100 in 18.4 overs after Mumbai captain Harbhajan Singh won the toss and put them into bat.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga was the main destroyer who captured four wickets for 16 runs while off-spinner Harbhajan and left-arm fast-medium bowler from New Zealand claimed two wickets each for 13 and 18, respectively.

Shikhar Dhawan (29) and South African Jean-Paul Duminy (25) were the main scorers for Deccan.

Then, Mumbai achieved the easy target of 101 in 18.1 overs losing five wickets as Rohit Sharma top scored with 42.

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn took two wickets for 10 runs.
